*****or-ange, noun…a color between red and yellow in the spectrum*****
Orange is just THE most glorious of colors, don’t you think? It just brightens up anything it is next to and glows all on its own. But, orange, she is a fickle girl…she can say ‘warm and cozy’ as well as ‘bright and fun’. However she’s behaving when you see her…she’ll not be ignored. You WILL notice her.
Isn’t fall the most wonderful time to celebrate ? And, don’t ya think orange is the most perfect color to celebrate celebrating fall in? Oh, just one more picture to share…the best use of orange I’ve seen to date!
At the risk of losing all of my readers (the faithful few, I call them)…I am going to post about Levi again. Yes, I am. I can’t help myself. You all just need to know this and I just need to share it. It has always been one of my problems to keep my mouth shut. I tend to tell my friends everything. Yet, you seem to love me anyway. I’m just so glad I can share my heart with you. But, if you are tired of hearing about this wonder child…this boy among boys…this sweet angel, Levi…I will understand if you skip this post. But come right back, OK? And, just don’t tell me about it.
…INTERRUPTION…
I just lost 4 whole paragraphs! Have you seen them? I have no idea under God’s beautiful blue sky where they went!!! I was busy typing along and looked up and there was nothing there. Disappeared, I tell you! WHOOSH! Gone! I just find it hard to understand that I can not get a grip on this computer. (So, OK, you may not have the same trouble understanding it…but I do not want to hear about it. thank you very much!) What would cause it to just eat up my paragraphs? Did it not like the first one? It stayed. Where do they go when they go? This bothers me. Do they end up in Greece or Rome or Italy and just pop up randomly on some one’s computer? Are they going to show up in some high-flying boardroom today and get some poor employee in trouble? Do they just go up, up, up, in orbit and fly around and around and around the world? I really wonder these things. I did NOT delete them, so they are still written somewhere. Right? I don’t know. I just don’t know. …END OF INTERRUPTION…
OK. Back to my post. Last week, I was able to do one of the things I have wanted and prayed for. I was able to keep sweet Levi while his parents worked. I am keeping him 3 days a week and his other grandmother, Mary, is keeping him the other two. What fun we had! Nothing I had to do but sit and hold him and look at him and laugh at him and sing to him and rock him to sleep and then watch him sleep! What a job, huh? I know there are those of you who do the same. And I know that those of you with grandchildren think YOURS is the cutest/smartest/most wonderful grandchild ever. And, you know what? They are! That’s the magic thing about grandchildren…all of them are right up there at the tippy top of wonderfullness! (Is that even a word? Should be) Spellcheck said ‘NO’.)
So, on his first day staying at Lulu’s house (that’s me, Lulu)…here is a collage of faces that makes me laugh and smile and thank God for this gift.
I have tried to click on this pic to make sure it will enlarge. But, when I do, the whole picture goes away and I have to upload it again. But, Alex said it would enlarge, so I’ll have to trust him. Enjoy!
Oh…I might as well show you this one, too. It was made last week, too. But, trust me on this…it’s better if you do NOT try to enlarge this one!
You do know, don’t you, that water makes things seem much wider than normal….just saying….
Well, I told you the grandson may break in on our Hawaiian Tour. And, he is. Bless his sweet little heart…and lungs…he is in the hospital with the RSV virus. On Monday night, Adam noticed the baby was becoming quite grey in color. But, he perked up, and they all went to bed. In a couple of hours, they both got up to change him and give him another bottle (he’s still not able to take but an ounce or 2 at a time). They noticed his coloring and this time Adam had to work at getting him to breathe again. They called the Dr. and were told to go right to the ER. They admitted him, and we found out that he has the RSV Virus. He stopped breathing another 2 times before they got his meds and oxygen going.
Now, I was not really aware of what the RSV virus is, but most younger mothers know about it. So, Let me educate you, a little. Especially since many of you have grandchildren or children or children to come! Following is some info from the CDC Atlanta, GA.
Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) Overview
Respiratory syncytial (sin-SISH-uhl) virus, or RSV, is a respiratory virus that infects the lungs and breathing passages. Most otherwise healthy people recover from RSV infection in 1 to 2 weeks. However, infection can be severe in some people, such as certain infants, young children, and older adults. In fact, RSV is the most common cause of bronchiolitis (inflammation of the small airways in the lung) and pneumonia in children under 1 year of age in the United States. In addition, RSV is more often being recognized as an important cause of respiratory illness in older adults.
Symptoms and Care
Illness usually begins 4 to 6 days after exposure (range: 2 to 8 days) with a runny nose and decrease in appetite. Coughing, sneezing, and fever typically develop 1 to 3 days later. Wheezing may also occur. In very young infants, irritability, decreased activity, and breathing difficulties may be the only symptoms of infection. Most otherwise healthy infants infected with RSV do not require hospitalization. In most cases, including among those who need to be hospitalized, full recovery from illness occurs in about 1 to 2 weeks.
The doctor told Suzanne that they were so fortunate that they saw him when this happened, or the outcome could have been, sadly, very different. He told her…”It was a God thing.” And, we so agree. They re usually not even up at that time, and for some reason, they both got up. God wanted them to find Little Levi, and get him help…or they would have slept right through.
I wonder just how many times God does that for us? Probably many times during a week. Oh how good He is to us! How could anyone not trust Him with their heart and souls? When we belong to Him, He is watching and caring for us ALL the time. Don’t know about you, but that makes me feel so safe. Thank you, God.
THURSDAY
Well, this did not get posted yesterday, as I planned. Little Levi is continuing to do well. The doctor is surprised that he is doing so well taking his bottle. Many times when an infant gets this virus, they lose their appetite. Which is not good since they are usually small anyway. Well, this has not been a problem for our bpy. He is eating well!
I’ll update when we know more. But, for now, he’s hanging in and doing what he is supposed to!
I am a Christian woman who has survived many years on the planet. God has blessed me with a wonderful family: husband, 3 sons, a dear DIL, and a precious grandson. I also have dear friends to keep me inspired. I am an artist of sorts and am finding my way through the great blessing of retirement. I recently retired after 20 years as a music teacher. Life is good!
